The Okokon B. Okon III Fellowship
Okokon Okon was a gentleman in every sense of the word.
His life was tragically cut short nearly three years ago before he could start a family, complete
his life’s work and leave a legacy of his own. His friends and colleagues from around the world
have decided to leave a lasting legacy in his name.
In March of 2005, a campaign began to raise $250,000 to endow the first fellowship named for
an African or African-American alum with a preference for African and African-American
students at Stanford.
Today, more than 53 alumni of color have donated over $130,000 toward this goal. For more details, please visit www.okokonokon.com.
Proceeds from copies of Speak Softly purchased here will be contributed to the Okokon B. Okon III Fellowship fund.
