A bit of history about this project...

This journey began in the mountains of southwest Colorado. (The photo you see on this page is of Red Mountain, just outside Durango.)

I was struck by the awesome presence of the 14,000 ft tall peaks and the powerful rivers that flowed between the mountains.

That experience drove home how, well, humble we should be in the face of that kind of majesty. It made me aware of the divine power that manifested such creations.

It also made me consider how rare this trait of humility is today. How misunderstood humility is, and yet, how important it has been to the success this country has enjoyed.

So, what began as a series of emails to friends and family became essays, which ended up on thought-leading web sites and blogs. Eventually, I felt moved to turn all of this into a book.

Immediately upon making that decision, I knew that this was to be a labor of love, and that any proceeds would have to go to charities and other organizations that are making the world better.

Three years later, I’m so grateful to see all of this come to fruition. Thank you for your support!
