Celebrating The Merits Of HumilityWelcome to the Speak Softly Store!
This project began as a personal journey, exploring what I thought had become a "countercultural" concept.
That journey has blossomed into a celebration of a nearly lost personal virtue: humility.
The book, Speak Softly..., and all of the related initiatives are intended to do the following:
1. Touch the lives of people who share the belief that we are at our best when we're focusing our attention on the needs of others. (From the feedback I've received, it's clear that we are not alone!)
2. Provoke the thoughts of those who, until now, have never considered how much healthier our society would be if we stopped worshiping at the altar of "Self".
3. Spark dialog with those who would vehemently disagree with my fundamental thesis that humility is rooted in strength and not weakness. Many believe that our right to wield a big stick comes with the requirement that we swing it early and often at those who disagree with us.
As you might imagine, I relish the prospect of engaging in respectful debate with those folks... ;-)
4. Provide significant financial rewards to charitable organizations. Because I didn't set out to write a best selling book, I have no particular desire to personally profit from the sales.
That said, I do believe that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of worthy charities that would not only embrace the elevation of humility, but would also welcome the additional financial support. So, I've decided to make it available as a fund raising tool for charities and non-profits around the world.
Kinda like Girl Scout Cookies, but without the risk to your waistline.
When you purchase a copy of Speak Softly..., we put every available dollar into the hands of a charitable organization. Not only can charities sell the book for a profit, but all of my author's royalties are donated to charity too.
